Language Matters When It Comes to Mental Health

People now are more aware of mental health than ever before. Now days we prioritize it like we do are physical health but how we talk to the people around us matters. How we discuss issues and how we talk about the people around us matter. have you ever taken a second to look at the way you use your words.

It can be as simple as saying John is a schizophrenic to john is someone that has schizophrenic.

Or when you look at someone and you speak down to the way they do things we affect people in the way we speak such as.

“John why cant you do this.” instead say.

“John can i help you or show you a different way to do this.” be proactive in the way you talk to people.

There is a saying that talk about words matter your words become matter they become your existents so what you speak out is what you receive back. (Dr. Joe Dispenza speaks about in breaking the habit of being yourself.)

Use kind words and there is always a fun saying to remember from Bambi years ago if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all.

Speak to others how you would want to be spoken to.

Everyone matters and we never know what someone is going through. Love and Kindness is key.

“We would never tell someone with a broken leg that they should stop wallowing and get it together. We don’t consider taking medication for an ear infection something to be ashamed of. We shouldn’t treat mental health conditions any differently.” — Michelle Obama
